Is Waterbom Bali Worth It? Why We Keep Coming Back

We’ve visited Waterbom Bali multiple times now, and somehow it gets harder to leave every time. Between the epic slides, the hilarious staff and the fact we’ve almost never had to queue, it’s become one of our favourite experiences in Indonesia.

A day of giant slides, zero queues, hilarious Indonesian staff and one very unfortunate FlowRider wardrobe malfunction.

Why We Visited Waterbom Bali

We’ve now visited Waterbom Bali several times over the years, and every single visit shows us why it’s one of our favourite attractions in Indonesia.

We were staying in Canggu and decided to make the short journey over to Kuta for a day of slides, sunshine and a healthy dose of chaos.

We’d heard countless people describe Waterbom as one of the best water parks in Asia, but what keeps bringing us back isn’t just the rides. It’s the atmosphere, the staff, and the fact that every visit somehow leaves us belly-laughing!

And this time was no different.

What We Loved

The Staff

This was honestly our favourite part of the day.

The slide operators were constantly joking with us, making funny faces for the camera and generally bantering with everyone around them.

At one point, they were trying to convince us that we looked like brother and sister.

When Beth flew out of a raft on one of the slides, they were laughing with us before helping us get set up for another go.

Everyone just seemed genuinely happy to be there.

The Lack of Queues

This was probably the biggest surprise.

Because we visited on a weekday, most rides were practically walk-on.

We managed to fit far more into the day than we expected and never felt rushed.

If you’re flexible with your schedule, we’d strongly recommend visiting during the week.

The FlowRider

This was our first time trying the FlowRider and we absolutely loved it.

It’s essentially a giant artificial wave where you can practise bodyboarding and surfing.

Because it wasn’t busy, we got loads of attempts and plenty of coaching from the staff.

It’s one of the few activities inside the park that costs extra, but we thought it was completely worth it.

Our Favourite Slides

Boomerang

Our personal favourite.

You drop down at high speed before being launched almost vertically up a giant wall.

It’s even better when you’re riding together because you can hear each other screaming the entire time.

Tailspin

Fast, chaotic and ridiculously fun.

We immediately wanted to go again.

Lazy River

After several hours of slides, floating around the Lazy River was the perfect way to relax and recharge.

Things To Be Aware Of

A quick warning for the ladies.

The Flowrider is POWERFUL

The water is far stronger than it looks.

Beth would strongly recommend wearing a rash vest rather than a bikini top if you’re planning to give it a go… Trust us on this one.

Fortunately, the staff are absolute legends and are very quick to help preserve your dignity if things go wrong.

It Is Completely Cashless

When you enter the park, you’ll receive a wristband that you can load with money.

Food, drinks and extras are all charged to the wristband throughout the day.

Any unused money can simply be refunded when you leave.

Avoid Local School & Public Holidays

If possible, try to visit on a weekday outside of school holidays and Indonesian public holidays.

You’ll likely experience much shorter queues and get far more value from your ticket.

Useful Information

How To Get There

Waterbom Bali is located in Kuta.

From Canggu or Seminyak, it’s typically a 30-45-minute journey, depending on traffic.

If you’re comfortable riding a scooter, it’s nice and straightforward! Otherwise, a Grab taxi or pre-arranged transfer works perfectly.

Tickets

You can purchase tickets at the gate.

However, online tickets are often slightly cheaper and can sometimes include additional offers or transfers.

Lockers And Facilities

The facilities are excellent.

Lockers, changing rooms, showers and towel rentals are all available, and everything feels clean, organised and easy to use.

Can You Film?

Yes.

We filmed our entire visit.

However, action cameras must be handheld. You cannot use an extension pole on the rides.

Our Verdict On Waterbom Bali

If you’re visiting Bali and wondering whether Waterbom Bali is worth the entrance fee, our answer is a very easy yes.

The rides are fantastic, the facilities are excellent, and the whole park feels incredibly well run.

But what has surprised us on multiple visits is how quiet it is!

Most recently, we visited on a weekday and were able to walk straight onto almost every ride. No standing around. No hour-long queues. Just ride after ride after ride.

For us, that made the experience incredible value for money.

Where We Stayed

Whenever we visit Bali, we always stay at Shashvata Co-Living & Co-Working in Canggu. After returning year after year, we’ve got to know the owners personally, and they’re some of the kindest, most genuine people we’ve met in Indonesia.

The atmosphere is fantastic, the facilities are great, and the team will genuinely go above and beyond to help their guests. One time when our scooter broke down, Donny even came to rescue us and helped Denz build his confidence riding in Bali. If you’re looking for somewhere friendly, welcoming and community-centred to stay in Canggu, we can’t recommend Shashvata highly enough.

Final Thoughts

We’ve visited Waterbom Bali multiple times, and somehow it never gets old.

The slides are brilliant, the facilities are excellent, and the whole experience is incredibly well organised.

But the thing we always remember most isn’t any individual slide.

It’s the people.

The staff who spent the day joking around with us, laughing with us and making what could have been a standard day at a water park feel genuinely memorable.

If you’re visiting Bali and looking for a fun day out, we’d happily recommend Waterbom Bali again and again.

Big Love

Beth and Denz
