Where Is The El Nido ZipLine?
So, where exactly is the El Nido zipline located? Well, you’ll find this adrenaline-pumping attraction nestled amidst the postcard-perfect beauty of Las Cabanas Beach. Pristine shores and crystal-clear waters are your backdrop as you soar 750m over the ocean to the tiny Depeldet Island.
Las Cabanas beach is just a short distance away from the main town of El Nido, approximately 10 to 15 minutes by Filipino tricycle or tuk-tuk. You can expect to pay roughly 150 pesos for the journey, which is around £2, and honestly, these tricycles are all part of the fun! Alternatively, you can rent a scooter and head there by following the coastal road north of El Nido Town. We have highlighted Las Cabanas Beach on the map below, so you can see the zipline’s location in relation to El Nido town.
Do You Have To Book In Advance?
The short answer is no … You don’t haha! We arrived on the day as a big group, and we all got to ride with minimal waiting time. We were mainly waiting for our own group members to go, and even then, it was no more than 20 minutes. Two people can ride at a time, and you can pay at the desk upon arrival. We are not actually familiar with a way you can book in advance, but if you know of a way, we would love to know in the comments!
Pricing: Superman Vs Sitting
If you are itching to take to the skies, there are a few bits you should know…
You can ride in two positions: Superman or sitting. Equally, you can choose to do one ride over to Depeldet Island and walk back over the shallow waters of the beautiful sandbar. Or you can choose an epic two-way zipline adventure. Here are the deets:
Sitting Position:
At the time of writing this blog, the prices are as follows:
Sitting position one way: 500 PHP (roughly £7)
Sitting position return: 900 PHP (roughly £13)
Superman Position:

Safety Of The El Nido ZipLine
When it comes to the safety of the El Nido zipline, we can only speak from personal experience. In Beth’s experience (Denz did not go on this Philippines trip), the zipline felt completely safe from beginning to end. The harness was well-fitting and secure, the guides were reassuring, and they came out to grab you at the other side. They are also very aware of weather conditions, and if it is too windy, they will not let you ride in the superman position for safety reasons. It’s worth noting that this is not a sponsored blog, nor do we have any affiliate booking links for this zipline, so there is no bias in this review 😊.
Afraid Of Heights? We Have Got You Covered
So, you are afraid of heights but don’t want to miss out on this zipline adventure? Whether you will manage is very personal to each individual. Beth is a little nervous of heights and managed just fine, but equally, this zipline could be pretty overwhelming for some people.

We feel this is the best way for you to make that all-important call! Worst case, because you don’t have to book in advance, you can always head on up, check it out first, and make a call on the day! Top Travel Tips for Your ZipLine Adventure
Before you embark on your zip-lining escapade, we’ve got some insider tips to ensure you make the most of your high-flying adventure:
1. First up, don’t forget to bring along a trusty backpack to keep all your essentials safe and secure midflight. This is especially important if you are only flying one way, as you will need to take all your belongings with you!
2. When it comes to footwear, opt for trainers instead of flip-flops to avoid any unexpected slip-ups mid-flight. However, don’t worry if you forget, they will tie your flipflops to your harness for the ride over!
3. Speaking of essentials, make sure to carry some cash with you, as not all spots along the beach accept card payments.
4. Pack a pair of waterproof shoes or flip-flops if you plan on only zipping one way… The walk back takes you through the sea over a stunning sandbar, but you will get a bit wet… Soggy shoes are no fun but neither are the rocks in bare feet!
5. This one goes without saying really but it’s best to steer clear of skirts on zip-lining day, as the harness may not be the most comfortable accessory.
6. If the weather permits, don’t hesitate to ask for the Superman position – rumour has it, it offers the most exhilarating ride!
7. If you are able, bring a hand held Camera or a Drone: If you are fortunate enough to own either of these, the El Nido Zipline is the perfect place to capture the magic both from above and on the ropes. If you are looking for the perfect cameras for your trip, you can check out Our Camera Equipment here.
Taking A Drone To The El Nido Zipline
If you love capturing your adventures from a bird’s eye perspective, then the El Nido Zipline is the perfect location for a drone flight! Maybe you are a solo traveller and want to capture yourself zipping away, or a dynamic duo wanting to get both of you in the shot. If so, you might be wondering … How do I capture my own flight with my drone?
Well… we have a top tip:
An awesome drone pilot works for the El Nido Zipline. If you give him a little tip, he is happy to fly your drone for you and capture the epic scenes. As he is very experienced, he can get some great shots. This is how Beth Captured the bird’s eye view of her own flight. However, not everyone will be comfortable with someone else flying their drone. In this case, you can pay for the footage, and he can capture your flight on his own drone for you!
Remember, if you do this, you will either have to get someone to zip down your drone to you afterwards or opt for the two-way option to collect your drone at the end.
When To Visit The El Nido ZipLine
When it comes to conquering the El Nido Zipline, timing is everything! The best time of year to take the plunge and soar through the skies is during the dry season, which typically runs from December to May. These months gift you with more predictable weather: with a much higher chance of clear skies and warm temperatures and a higher likelihood of optimal conditions for a zipline adventure.
The wet season typically runs from June to November and does bring some rain but equally quieter tourist spots. However, be aware that sometimes the zipline will have to close in very windy or stormy conditions. It’s also essential to note that the Philippines’ weather can be a bit unpredictable. Rain showers might decide to join the party even during the dry season, but they’re usually short-lived and followed by lots of sunshine.
Average Monthly Rainfall In The Philippines
As for the ideal time of day, we recommend catching the morning sun or the golden hues of sunset for an extra dose of magic. Whether you’re an early bird seeking a sunrise thrill or a sunset chaser craving an evening adventure, make sure to time your visit just right for an unforgettable experience at the El Nido Zipline!
Conclusion
So there you have it; we hope you’re feeling primed and ready to take on this exhilarating adventure. Armed with insights on the zipline’s location, transportation options, pricing, and the thrill of zipping through the skies in both Superman and sitting positions, you’re well-equipped to make the most of your experience.
Remember, timing is key, so aim for those golden hours to capture the stunning skies and make your ziplining adventure truly unforgettable. And for those seeking to immortalize their adventure, don’t forget to pack your camera and/or drone to capture those jaw-dropping aerial shots. Harness up, take a leap of faith, and feel the adrenaline rush as you embrace the thrill of ziplining in El Nido.
